William Kent executed three ceiling paintings for the 3rd Earl of Burlington soon after he returned to London with him in 1719. He was thought to have completed this painting in 1720.

This work is currently on display in the Lee & James C. Slaughter Room at the Royal Academy of Arts and can be viewed by attending one of the free tours of the John Madejski Fine Rooms. Click here for further information about the tours
