Politician, in Britain. Born Thomas Grosvenor; in 1814 became second Earl of Wilton; in 1821 assumed the surname Egerton (his mother's maiden surname); in 1821 married Lady Mary Stanley (d. 1858), daughter of the Earl of Derby; in 1835 served as Lord Steward of the Household in the Tory administration of Sir Robert Peel; in 1858 married Isabella Smith.
