Content DescriptionNoting that the official in charge of their Aldwych tube repository had reported the receipt of two pieces of sculpture. These were doubtless the Michelangelo relief [‘The Madonna and Child with the Infant St John’] and the RA's fourth century Greek statue, which the trustees of the British Museum had agreed to take charge of for the duration of the war.
