|Content Description||Possibly written by the Secretary of State for War (see LAW/1/132), the notes mention the death of Nelson, also that of Capts. Duff and Cooke; it also provides simple tallies for enemy ships destroyed and captured.|
The manuscript appears to have originated in Lawrence's house as "Dear Sir" is crossed out above where the notes commence.
|Note||It is possible that there notes were scribbled by Castlereagh while in Lawrence's studio on first hearing news of Trafalgar.|
