TitleNotes on Trafalgar

Content DescriptionPossibly written by the Secretary of State for War (see LAW/1/132), the notes mention the death of Nelson, also that of Capts. Duff and Cooke; it also provides simple tallies for enemy ships destroyed and captured.

The manuscript appears to have originated in Lawrence's house as "Dear Sir" is crossed out above where the notes commence.
NoteIt is possible that there notes were scribbled by Castlereagh while in Lawrence's studio on first hearing news of Trafalgar.
