| Responsibility Note | All plates are signed as designed by Bouchardon, except plate [10] of the fifth suite, which is not signed by a draughtsman; eleven are signed as both designed and drawn by him (Suites 3:6; 4:1-4, 7-12). All plates are signed as etched by 'C' or 'C.S.' ('C.S.' or 'C. Sculp.'), except the title-plates of suites 3-5, which are signed respectively as 'Gravé a l'Eau forte par C. et retouché par Et. Fessard', 'Gravé a l'eau forte par C. Et terminé au burin par Et. Fessard' and 'Gravé à l'eau-forte par C.S. et terminé au burin par Et. Fessard'.
Each plate carries at the foot the publisher's imprint, 'A Paris Chés Joullain', except the title plate of the fifth suite, in which the imprint of Joullain is engraved instead of that of Fessard within the plate itself. |
