|Content Description||Passing on the Queen's regrets that Gibson was unable to undertake the group depicting Europe for the memorial to Prince Albert. She quite understood Gibson's reluctance to exchange the Roman climate for one as cold and unpleasant as their own. The Queen also shared Gibson's displeasure at the proposal to depict at the foot of the cross the rape of Europa by Jupiter in the form of a bull: no one else had pointed out the incongruity.|
