Content DescriptionAt the start of the volume is a list of members of "The Club" to March, and meeting dates for March and April; a note in January to the effect that E.M. Ward died shortly after sending Richmond a letter and was unable to read his reply, followed by an obituary; in March is pasted a newspaper cutting titled 'The age of Aesthetics', by 'Another Old Fogey'; in May he notes W.B. Richmond's election as Slade Professor at Oxford, adjacent to that is a newspaper cutting on the life of Henry Liddell; in June is pasted an Academy death notice for F.R. Lee; in September is pasted an Academy death notice for P.F. Poole; also in September is pasted notes on D. Camerino Archangelus Pinxit and in October note on works present at Arundel Castle and other memos on Academy winter exhibition business; also in October he notes that W.B. Richmond delivers his first lecture as Slade Professor, with a telegram from Dr. Acland praising the lecture; in December is pasted a letter from the Duke of Norfolk, authorising Mr. Dyer, through Richmond, to do what must be done in order to get his pictures to London [for the Academy winter exhibition], adjacent to this is an Academy death notice for William Boxall, later in the month he gives a brief account of the funeral; at the rear of the volume he makes notes on the winter exhibition planning and expenses incurred.
