Content DescriptionHe has been working excessively hard; his temporary rooms were delayed, they will be sold at Antwerp; he is sorry to hear of Smirke's brother's misfortune; in the last month he has painted the three monarchs, their ministers and the Duc de Richelieu; he hears that the British press are saying he has failed with Alexander, this is nonsense; he lists the portrait copies demanded by the Tsar; the King of Prussia gave him a diamond ring through Hardenberg; he mentions the number of sittings required for the monarch's pictures; he provides a synopsis of the success of "the English artist"; he is to go to Vienna, Lord Stewart precedes him.
