Lewis Vulliamy made the drawings for this work while on a travelling scholarship of the Royal Academy. For his own buildings he drew not only on classical but also on Romanesque, Gothic and Italian Renaissance styles, e.g. the church of All Saints, Ennismore Gardens (Italian Romanesque) and Dorchester House, Park Lane (Italian Renaissance).
Responsibility NoteThe title-plate and all other plates are signed as drawn by Lewis Vulliamy and engraved by Henry Moses - except that pl. [2] and [5] are signed as drawn and etched by Lewis Vulliamy and finished by Henry Moses.

Each plate carrying a publication-date to 1825 carries the publishers' imprint of L. Vulliamy and H. Moses. Each carrying a publication-date of 1826 or 1827 carries the publisher's imprint of L. Vulliamy only. Each plate to October 1824 carries also the imprint of the printers, Chatfield and Coleman.
