Summary NoteThe six plates of Volume III carry the publication-date of the sixth edition, Octr. 1826.

The unnumbered plate in Volume I is captioned and shows 'Sketch Representing the Backpart of the Heart ...'. In Volume II the unnumbered plate is captioned and shows 'The Ostrich's Lungs ...'; the first numbered plate is uncaptioned; the second is captioned 'Plan of the Nerves of Respiration'. The six numbered plates in Volume III are uncaptioned.
Responsibility NoteThe plate of Vol. I is signed as made by J. Bell. The unnumbered plate of Vol. II is captioned as 'drawn by the Parisian dissectors'; the two numbered plates are unsigned. In Vol. III plates I and III are signed as engraved by D. Lizars, plates II, V and VI are unsigned, plate IV is signed as drawn by Chas. Bell and engraved by Skelton; and each plate in this volume carries the publishers' imprint of Logman, Rees & Co. and the date (Octr. 1826).
