Each group begins with a full-page print showing the emblem within an elaborate border- apart from the first group, which describes the emblem shown in the title-plate. The text is further decorated with headpieces and initials.
Responsibility NoteM. Praz in 'Studies in seventeenth-century imagery' (1947) states that the discorsi are by Bartolommeo Arnigio.

The title-plate is signed 'Bart. Brxi Excu', and the emblems 'S.B.B.' - i.e. Bartolomeo da Brescia.

The name of the bookseller or publisher is given in the colophon: 'In Brescia, Appresso Vincenzo Di Sabbio. MDLXVIII.'

The work is dedicated by Il Secretario to Signora Barbara Calina.
