ImprintRomae ad Temp. S.M. de Pace): (Io. Iacob. de Rubeis formis, [16--?]
Physical Description[9] pl. (5 dble.); 445 mm.
Physical Description NoteThe double pl. are nos. [1-4, 9]. One plate is captioned, and could possibly have served as a title-plate (but in the Academy's copy is placed as plate [4]).
Summary NoteOur title is taken from the plate which in the Royal Academy's set appears as plate [4]. None of the other plates is captioned; and none carries a publication date.

The plates reproduce the paintings which Lanfranco made for the Cappella Buongiovanni in the church of Saint Augustine, Rome, in 1616. They show the Virgin venerated by S. William and S. Augustine (altarpiece), incidents in the lives of S. William and S. Augustine (painted canvasses), and the Assumption of the Virgin - the first dome fresco of the Roman baroque, which influenced several later artists.
Responsibility NoteAll plates carry the name of the source-artist, Lanfranco. None carries the name of the engraver.

Each carries the imprint of the printer-publisher, 'Io. Iacob. de Rubeis' (i.e. Giovanni Giacomo de Rossi).
