William Hookham Carpenter

Bookseller; keeper of prints and drawings at the British Museum (1845-66). Son of bookseller and print-publisher James Carpenter (1768-1852); in 1817 married painter Miss Margaret Sarah Geddes (1793-1872); father of painters William (1818-99), Percy (1820-95) and Henrietta (1822-95).
